Driving through the Enviro-Tunnel.  

A tunnel to be built over about 1/2 mile section of the M25 recovering about 50 acres of the original Fire & Iron land, removed by the construction of the M25. The primary purpose of the tunnel is as a pilot environmental project, to extract and clean exhaust fumes and to completely eliminate traffic noise from the local environment.

Similar tunnels can be constructed over motorways and other roads, where high levels of exhaust gases and traffic noise seriously endanger public health and the environment,
such as conurbations and other built up areas. Estimated Cost £130,000,000
